Monday was an exciting day for Gus! He had his first pediatrician appointment with Dr. Baydar in the morning. We learned that Gus had started to regain some of the weight that he lost the first few days (perfectly normal), that his responses were excellent and his neck strength was outstanding, something we suspected with the amount he lifts and tosses his head around.
After a quick pit stop at home for a feeding, we hit the road to run some errands. Top on our list was changing the
AngelCare Video, Movement and Sound Monitor System that was not functioning quite like we hoped (the battery life for the video monitor was lasting one fifth of the advertised 10 hours) to just the Movement and Sound Monitor. We also picked up the BabyTouch Digital Video Monitor from
Summer Infant. We ended our 2+ hour excursion at
Sonic to take advantage of their Happy-Hour drink prices. Gus slept through the whole adventure.
Later in the afternoon, Gus welcomed two more visitors. Sonja Robinson and Ashley Francis, both from Buckley, but with ties to Leonia, NJ stopped by for about an hour.
Tuesday was spent recovering from all of the activities the day before, but Gus did welcome another visitor, Anne Byerly.
He also lost his umbilical cord which permitted his first foray in Tummy Time!!
Wednesday and Thursday were also relatively quiet days. Tara slept as much as possible, Gloria continued to pack the apartment in anticipation of the move in less than 3 weeks, and I did my best pack mule impersonation bringing all of the boxes and pictures down to the garage. Gus meanwhile kept looking cute in all of his new outfits, like this Longhorn onesie, and this highly modest piece.
