This was a busy and happening month. He learned to do so many things and got his first tooth!
Nana and Gramps Wieners came to Austin for a visit at the end of February!
(Rita and Fred)
Aunt Jenny sent along this amazing toy chest and Gramps put it together, setting a personal best for fewest swear words used while following directions written primarily in Taiwanese!
A trip to the Salt Lick was in order with Air Force family friends Mr. Tony Imondi and his youngest son Zack!
August has grown so big that we now use the tub to keep him clean! He loves bath-time!
He's also moving more, rolling around in his bed and all over the house in this little walker.
In preparation for our Spring Break trip to California, August tried on a pair of shades (which were not needed as you will see below.)
He was an excellent traveler, sleeping for most of the flight there and back. He loved looking out the window when we were landing! The wonder on his face was priceless.
While in Sunny Vale, we stayed with our friends Ryan, Kirsten and Millie Matyjasik. Kirsten works for Apple, so we enjoyed a wonderful lunch in their incredible cafeteria in Cupertino.
We took a day trip down to visit the Monterrey Bay Aquarium!
August was over-awed by all of the creatures in the tanks!
And was pleasantly surprised at the Tidal Basin!
It wouldn't be a trip to California without a stop at a winery (or two)!
(Ryan and Kirsten)
Palo Alto has a wonderful Children's Center with interactive Science games inside and a zoo outside!
This was the fantastic view of San Francisco Bay that we had from Skyline Drive (Rt. 35)
When we returned to Texas the wildflowers were blooming! We traveled to Marble Falls in search of a great patch of blue bonnets, plunked August in the middle of them, and snapped off 125 pictures.
Most of them looked like this! Poor abused boy.
But there were a few that turned out quiet excellent!
There was a smaller patch of blue bonnets at home so for St. Patrick's Day (and Aunt Jenny's Birthday) we captured a few more shots.
August loves his books, especially "Where is Baby's Belly Button?" by Karen Katz!
